General FAQ's

What kind of events do you do?
We specialise in Young People's parties, from ages 5 years old, up to around 30 years old, it all depends on your music taste and requirements. We mainly provide disco's for children's birthday's, school disco's, 13th's, 16th's, 18th's, 21st's, college & sixth form proms, young couple's weddings . . . .

How soon should i book?

Usually as soon as possible. We have become very popular and booked months in advance by most of our customers. To guarantee your preferred date and time be sure to call or email Phil asap. If you've left it a bit late, don't worry, hopefully we can offer a suitable time slot.

Can we request particular music for the party?

Yes - just let us know, and we can play specific tracks and artists, and any genres you may want.

Can we meet in person to discuss the party?

Yes we offer a pre meeting service to allow you to discuss your party booking face to face. This service is currently an additional £20.00, you can come along to our nice warm office and have a cup of coffee/tea as well.

Will we ever be let down or cancelled?

No - we have never let a customer down or cancelled, and do not intend to do so. The company is made up of 2 x Full Time DJ's - Phil & Tash. We also have 2 x Stand in DJ's always available for emergencies and we have assistant DJ's at most of our disco parties. All for your peace of mind, and a guaranteed successful party. Plus all bookings are covered by a written agreement.

Are you professional DJ's?

We certainly are; look elsewhere if you're after a cheap DJ who might not even turn up. You'll be glad to know we are full members of the NADJ (National Association of Disc Jockeys), and we have achieved the ‘Platinum Award’ through the DJ Mark Scheme.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

Yes, we have £10 million PLI, required at all hotel's and venues. Copies of our certificate can be supplied

Is your company legitimate?

Yes, we are tax registered and trade legitimately. We follow all industry standards, health and safety procedures, and ensure all equipment is safe and PAT tested annually.

Mobile Disco FAQ's

I want an up to date DJ for my 16th/18th/21st birthday party, can you do this?

Yes - we definately can. We undertake 16th's, 18th's, 21st's, 25th birthday parties every single week - and always ensure a modern, mature, up to date DJ service. DJ Phil & DJ Tash play all the right music, mixed the right way. We also keep talking on the microphone to a minimum - so we don't ruin the atmosphere of the party.

We don't want any cheese or old music!

That's completely fine, we can play the music you want and ensure the DJ set complements your song and genre choices. We can keep it bang up to date with the latest chart releases an popular RnB, Pop, Club, etc. and play no cheese if thats what you want.

My child/teen wants a modern & mature disco, can you do this?

Yes we most certainly can. We pride ourselves on providing a modern, professional and up to date disco party. We are not cheesey old DJ's, we are bang up to date, and will ensure all the latest tracks are played, the ones that your son/daughter and their friends will want to hear and dance all night to! We can also include mature games to break the ice; such as dance comps, limbo - just ask. 

Are you approachable on the night of the party?

Yes, DJ Phil & DJ Tash are very approachable. Feel free to come and chat to us if you have any questions. We are also happy to take requests on the ngiht.

Kids Parties FAQ's

Are your parties suitable for Boys & Girls?

Yes - our children's disco parties include a mixture of brilliant games, dancing, bubbles, snow & more that will appeal to both boys and girls. We try to ensure all children are involved with the party.

Are you CRB Checked?

What would happen if you were ill on the day of my child's party?

Unlike many entertainers who operate alone, with Get Up and Groove you will always have 2 x DJ's/Entertainers; Phil & Tash are both full time entertainers. However if one of us becomes ill then we always have 2 Part Time staff ready to stand in. Our part time staff are fully trained, experienced and insured.
